We've chosen Belize because we think its unique beauty and authenticity reflect not only our relationship, but the relationships with each of you that have shaped our lives. We know your trip takes more time and planning than a wedding closer to home, which makes it even more special that you'll be there to celebrate with us. We could not be more excited to have our closest friends and family alongside us for something this magical.
We hope you'll take extra time to enjoy the idyllic beaches, the fishing, the food, and everything else Belize has to offer. Rent a golf cart, grab a Belikin, and drive north until you're overlooking a bay with nothing but palm trees and a self-service beach bar. It's going to be awesome.
Las Terrazas is a quiet resort about 3.5 miles north of San Pedro on Ambergris Caye. It's the whole wedding: the ceremony, the reception, and your room, all a barefoot walk from each other. No rental cars, no driving between venues, no schedule you have to keep except the ones on this page.
Getting there takes a little planning, so we've put everything in one place. Read the travel and booking sections first, since those are the two that have deadlines. The rest you can enjoy at your leisure.

Page 02 · Getting to Belize
Travel
Step one: fly to Belize City (BZE)
Every guest flies into Philip S. W. Goldson International Airport, airport code BZE. There are direct flights from a number of U.S. cities, and flight times from the East Coast run roughly four to five hours. Book the earliest arrival you can reasonably get. You want to land with daylight to spare for the second leg.
Step two: get to the island
Las Terrazas is on Ambergris Caye, which means one more short hop after BZE: a roughly 20-minute flight on a puddle-jumper from Belize City to San Pedro (SPR), then about a 10-minute boat ride up the coast to the resort dock. The puddle-jumper is a great experience, low over the reef with windows all around. This is where the adventure begins.
Let the resort handle it
Las Terrazas books round-trip transportation for guests, the puddle-jumper flight and the boat in both directions, for 268 USD per person, round trip. Someone meets you right at BZE and you never think about a single connection.
It is optional, but on a long travel day it is the easiest 268 dollars you will spend. Ask for it when you make your room reservation. Prices are subject to change with airline and government fee increases.

The water taxi saves real money if you're watching the budget. It also adds a transfer, a wait, and an open-water crossing after a full travel day. We fly, and we'd fly again. If you arrange your own, tell us so we know when to expect you.
Prefer wheels for the whole trip? The resort can also arrange a golf cart rental, the island's main way to get around. Ask when you book your room, and confirm whether the cart will be at the resort or picked up in town.
When to arrive
The wedding block runs Friday, February 19 through Monday, February 22, 2027: three nights, with the wedding on Saturday the 20th. Arriving Friday gives you a full day on the island before anything official happens, and the rehearsal and welcome drinks are that evening, which is exactly how we'd want you to start.
February is high season in Belize. Flights and rooms both get tight, so book early.

Rooms at Las Terrazas
We've held a block of rooms at the resort at negotiated wedding rates. Everything below is on property, so you can walk from your door to the ceremony, the reception, the pool, and the beach.
Most units are full condos and villas with kitchens, living rooms, and multiple bedrooms, which makes them very easy to share. Splitting a two- or three-bedroom with another couple or your family is by far the most affordable way to do this weekend.

Availability changes as guests book, so call for what's open. If your first choice is taken, the reservations office can tell you what's closest.
The reservations office will quote you our group rate for any of these when you call. Rates are per night, subject to 19% tax and service charge. A 1-bedroom penthouse is reserved for the bride and groom.
Share a villa. It changes everything.
Every room here is priced for the whole unit, not per person. A three bedroom sleeps six comfortably, with real beds and real doors, so whatever the rate is, it lands wherever you decide to split it. Six people sharing the beachfront villa, the nicest room on the property, can pay less per person than a couple taking the smallest condo alone.
Villas have separate bedrooms with their own doors, and most have more than one bathroom, so sharing doesn't mean roughing it. Everyone gets a kitchen, and a grocery run on arrival cuts the food budget in half again.
Other options at the resort
If nothing in the block fits, ask the reservations office about the Deluxe Studio (a single hotel-style room, and there's only one) or the 3-bedroom Lagoon Villa, which is smaller with the primary bathroom on the balcony and no air conditioning in that room. Both are typically the least expensive options on property.
Staying somewhere else
You're welcome to, and we'll still be thrilled you came. Fair warning: most other options are down near San Pedro, which means a boat or golf cart ride each way, late at night, after a wedding. If you're on the fence, stay on property.

Reserving your room
Rooms are booked individually. We can't book them for you, and there's no online link. Call or email the reservations office and say you're with the Poole / Richardson wedding. That's what unlocks the group rate.

What it takes to hold a room
- A $500 deposit per reservation, guaranteed with a major credit card.
- The balance is charged automatically to that same card 30 days before you arrive.
- Cancel more than 30 days out and you're fine. Cancel inside 30 days and the reservation is non-refundable.
- Ask about the round-trip transfer, currently $268, while you have them on the phone.

What's happening
The ceremony is Saturday, February 20. Times for everything else are still being finalized and we'll update this page as they firm up. Nothing here is mandatory. Come to what you like and spend the rest of the weekend in the water.
Page 06 · What to Wear
Dress
The wedding: garden-party formal, beach edition. Long dresses, linen suits, colors and florals all very welcome. Skip the stilettos entirely, since we'll be on sand and stone. Wedges, block heels, or nice flats.
Everything else: resort casual. Sundresses, linen, swimsuits, sandals.
Bring a wrap. February evenings on the water are lovely but breezy once the sun goes down. There will be pashminas at the reception for anyone who forgets.
Colors: we'd love a garden of greens, corals, creams, and soft blues. We only ask that guests skip white.

Questions we've been asked
Do I need a passport?
Yes. A valid passport is required to enter Belize, and it should be valid well past your travel dates. If yours is expiring in 2027, renew it now. Processing times move around, and this is the single most common reason people miss a destination wedding. No visa is needed for U.S. citizens on a short stay.
What's the money situation?
The Belize dollar is pegged to the U.S. dollar at 2 to 1, and U.S. dollars are accepted almost everywhere. Cards work at the resort. Bring some small U.S. bills for tips and golf cart taxis.
Is it safe?
Ambergris Caye is the main tourist island in Belize and is a very different place from the areas that show up in travel warnings, which concentrate in specific mainland neighborhoods. Las Terrazas is a gated resort with 24-hour security and staff, and virtually everything you'll do that weekend happens on the property or on the water. Use the same judgment you'd use anywhere: don't wander alone at night, keep valuables in the room safe. We're happy to talk it through with anyone who has questions.
What's the weather like in February?
About as good as Belize gets: dry season, highs in the low 80s, lows in the low 70s, water warm enough to stay in all day. Pack sunscreen, a hat, and a light layer for evenings.
Can I share a villa with someone?
Please do. It's the single biggest thing you can do to lower the cost of this trip, and the villas are built for it: separate bedrooms with doors, multiple bathrooms, a full kitchen, and a living room to spill into. A three bedroom split six ways divides the room cost by six, and can make the nicest villas cheaper per person than the smallest rooms. If you don't have a group, email us and we'll put you on the share list and make introductions.
How do I get around the island?
Golf carts, bicycles, and water taxis. The resort can arrange a cart rental for you; current rates run roughly $80 for 24 hours. Ask when you book whether it will be at the resort or picked up in town. You don't need one for the wedding, only for exploring.
Can I bring my kids?
Yes. Las Terrazas welcomes families, and several of the condos and villas have multiple bedrooms and full kitchens that make traveling with children much easier.
Is the water safe to drink? Do I need shots?
Drink bottled or filtered water, which the resort provides. No special vaccinations are required for travel to Belize, but check with your doctor if you have concerns or plan to visit the mainland interior. Bring bug spray for the evenings.
Will my phone work?
Most U.S. carriers offer an international day pass in Belize; check yours before you leave or you'll get a surprise bill. The resort has Wi-Fi, and honestly, this is a good weekend to be a little unreachable.
What about travel insurance?
Worth considering, given flights, deposits, and a 30-day cancellation window. Look for a policy that covers trip cancellation and medical evacuation.
Who do I ask if something goes sideways?
For anything about your room, the transfer, or arrival logistics, the reservations office is the fastest answer. For anything about the wedding itself, email us. We'd rather hear from you twice than not at all.

Make a trip of it
Ambergris Caye sits beside the second-largest barrier reef in the world, and a lot of what's worth doing here happens in the water.
- Hol Chan Marine Reserve & Shark Ray Alley. The classic half-day snorkel trip, twenty minutes by boat. Nurse sharks and rays in waist-deep water.
- The Great Blue Hole. A full-day trip for certified divers, or a scenic flight over it if you'd rather stay dry.
- Secret Beach. A shallow, calm stretch on the west side of the island with bars in the water. Golf cart ride away.
- San Pedro town. Food, shops, and street life. A boat or cart ride south from the resort.
- Flats fishing. Bonefish, permit, and tarpon behind the island. Guides book up in high season, so arrange it before you arrive.
- Ruins and caves on the mainland. Lamanai up the New River past crocodiles and howler monkeys, or cave tubing and Xunantunich. Both are full days off the island and worth adding nights for.
- Do nothing at all. The resort has a pool, a beach, and a rooftop lounge. This is a completely legitimate itinerary.
Extending your stay before or after the block is easy. Just mention the dates you want when you call reservations. Nights outside February 19 to 22 will be at whatever rate is available.
